Jim Rua's Via Italia
Travel Tales
A Book in Progress

Our recent travel excursions have been filled with interesting people, places,  food, wine and other memorable experiences in Italy and Spain. I have therefore decided to write a book whose contents will be past and future travel tales, complete with photographs, recipes, narrative adventures and personal impressions. My collaborator is Adele Azzellino-Bucci, a grand signora from Napoli who frequently accompanies Via Italia travelers to local markets and conducts wonderful cooking demonstrations.    In preparation, I have been rereading the great picaresque novels by Henry Fielding and, of course, Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.  Each chapter of the book will be published on this web site and eventually between  covers.  Let me know if you have any ideas for a title, editorial suggestions or other helpful hints.  Better still, take a trip with us and become part of the history.   Below are the first few chapters.  Jim Rua
